It is certainly our increasingly busy daily routine. But that’s just one of the many excuses we always find to escape the subject!

The stress of everyday life always ends up taking us down faster and wrong paths , mainly with regard to our food and increasingly unhealthy choices. Certainly a healthy lifestyle can become a real challenge for many people.

But it is worth remembering that many chronic diseases end up appearing due to the wrong choices we make on a daily basis, not only with our food, but also in relation to the famous sedentary lifestyle.

That is, having a healthy lifestyle is not something “fancy” so to speak, but a vital necessity. In other words, living well has to be a priority in our lives.

Therefore, in today’s post I made a list of simple tips so that you can start having a better quality of life today. Remembering that the first step to be taken is basic: you have to want it!

Balanced Diet: Foods to Include in Your Diet

In case you didn’t know, most health problems are directly linked to poor diet. To live better and achieve greater longevity, it is necessary to have a balanced diet.

A healthier diet is also synonymous with energy , as through adequate levels of nutrients, lipids, and carbohydrates, we can feel much more willing during our daily routine. It also improves our immunity , making our defense cells much more able to fight any type of invading agent.

Here are some examples of how to achieve a balanced diet:

  • Limit intake of saturated fats;
  • Avoid foods high in fats;
  • Reduce sugar intake;
  • Preferably for whole grain foods (brown rice, pasta, wholegrain, wholemeal bread, etc.)
  • Seek to reduce salt in preparations;
  • Invest in natural foods like greens, fruits and vegetables;
  • Drink lots of water throughout the day.

The Importance of Regular Physical Exercise

Many still believe that the practice of exercises is something aesthetic, because they are wrong! Regular practice not only helps to keep the body more beautiful, it is also essential to stay healthier and prevent different pathologies , such as diabetes and hypertension.

It’s no use having a balanced diet and following everything to the letter if the body remains still. It’s worth noting that when we talk about regular physical exercise, you don’t necessarily need to go to the gym every day. There are many other options, such as walking, cycling, running, dancing , among others.

No more excuses! It only takes 30 minutes, 3 times a week for your body to start feeling the difference.

Strategies for Managing Stress and Finding Balance

Unfortunately, stress is a problem that affects a large part of the population, especially in the workplace. With the rush of the day, the demands and the excess of information, stress ends up appearing even without us realizing it. Therefore, it is increasingly important to reduce stress levels in order to have a healthy lifestyle. Here are some strategies:

  • Avoid caffeine, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages;
  • Practice physical activity;
  • Sleep more and with quality;
  • Try relaxation techniques;
  • Talk to someone you trust about what you’re feeling;
  • Take time out of your day to do something you enjoy.

Healthy Sleep Habits for a Good Quality of Life

Have you noticed that when you sleep less hours than you should, you wake up in a bad mood and not in the mood? In return, when we sleep well, it increases our productivity , improves our mood, in addition to the ability to learn and concentrate. Take a look at some habits that can help you sleep well:

  • Have a ritual: Don’t use the bed or bedroom for anything other than sleeping. Make your bedroom your sanctuary of rest.
  • Wear pajamas that are comfortable and suitable for the temperature of the occasion.
  • Turn off electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime. This avoids distractions.
  • If taking an afternoon nap, make sure it lasts no longer than 30 minutes.
  • Leave a more tenuous lighting hours before going to bed, so the body will understand that it should rest.
  • If you wish, you can practice meditation to relax before going to bed.

How to Take Care of Mental and Emotional Health

Data show that a large part of the population has some type of mental disorder , involving anxiety, phobias, depression and personality disorders. Therefore, it is essential to know how to take care of our mental and emotional health. Check out:

  • Do pleasurable activities.
  • Maintain good relationships, with family, friends, partners, etc.
  • Decrease the time spent in front of screens, both on the computer like cell phone every day.
  • Find motivations to study, work, perform tasks, maintain relationships, etc.
  • Bet on leisure activities: dancing, reading, drawing, playing, chatting, among others. Anyway, anything that brings you joy.
